Welcome to the 2011 showcase for graduating students of the Masters Programme in Art & Design – contemporary dialogues. Here you will see the work of the students from three of our four pathways, Fine Art, Photography and Visual Communications; Textiles being a recent new addition to our Portfolio with graduates beginning to emerge next year. What of this year’s emerging crop though? Well you will see that there are 12 artists on the initial list and 13 on the final list; a discrepancy! Perhaps like the absent number 13 door in any hotel we have an anomaly. Perhaps we have an uninvited guest behind door 13? I will leave you to solve this enigma as you look around. We also have two more guests who are invited and should get a mention, Veronica and Jennifer Buls, who are graduating this year but have chosen to do a written submission. The work this year as ever is varied and fascinating. We have painters and protesters, bird-scarers and tweeters, wanderers, wonderers, soothers and... memories. I’m sure this will be a show to remember, my thanks to all for a memorable year. Please enjoy the show.
