As artist I play the role of photographer, video maker and performer akin to the lyrical poet Baudelaire who presented an alternative view of the modern Parisian cityscape as flaneur or drifter on capitalisms stage. Baudelaire found his own license to diverge from the acceptable and appropriate by strolling within the spectacle of cityscape making visual the tones of experience to the mind of the reader. Unlike the poet the video maker is not a cultural and critical commentator, differentially to the lyrical poet the video maker perceives multiple situations as a satellite out side the crowd relaying to the 'other.' As a video maker I respond to drifting in a cityscape by completely 'metaphorically' by immersing myself visually in it's material fabric finding the beat of universal soul (anima mundi). The cameras electronics encapsulating the visual surfaces of the architecture whilst moving in or out of synchronisation with the city forging, pulse and resonance with time.
